Courage

Many people have said the serenity prayer but few realize the power in the words. This entry will focus on courage to change the things you can. Yes, certain things are out of our control but there are some things that we must stand up and fight for. We have free will. That gives us power. The power to choose is an amazing thing. So be courageous and choose wisely. I have had many unfortunate events recently. Some wounds have been reopened and other scars have healed. I choose to be courageous through it all. Yes, I've been hurt. I have been kicked while I was down. I have been betrayed in the worst way but I still choose to control the outcome. There is purpose in all of our lives. Without it there would be no reason to exist. Do not choose to be a victim, there's no courage in that. Instead, choose to fight. Stand up for your rights. No one has power over you unless you relinquish it to them. I'm going to fight back. I stand for truth, justice and respect. My courage will rest in my ability to face all things head on and with the power of God. My story has only begun and change will always be evident. But it is I who will choose how I respond. "courage to change the things I can." Freewill is my catalyst to engineer the courage I need to overcome for that is what I'm destined to do.
